San Giovanni Delle Contee

St. John of Counties is a place of common Sorano, situated on a small hill overlooking the valley of the river Stridolone, throughout the Tufo. The name of the site is given by both the Church of St. John the Baptist, that his old geopolitical context in County of Ottieri, located between the County of Santa Fiora, the County of Orsini of Pitigliano and neighbouring territories of Siena and Orvieto. The village of St. John of Counties began to develop during the Middle Ages, as the county town of Ottieri. The town's historic center was marked by numerous construction of precast concrete tuff, many of which recall the ancient atmospheres are not even kept relevant style elements of medieval times.
